IN THE EYES OF DARKNESS

HORROR MUSIC XPERIENCE

TRIBUTE ALBUM BACKGROUND

Halloween comes in many forms and ways to celebrate the occasion with many movies and music albums marking the occasion designed to scare the fright out of you. But none have left a mark on society as much as John Carpenter's 'Halloween' movie released in 1978. Halloween was a commercial success and helped develop the slasher movie genre forever.

Now it's time for HSU to join the festivities by paying tribute to John Carpenter, deemed the Master Of Horror, with his music and classic cult movies in a new playlist tribute album that takes a different approach in style. As the music sets the creepy tone, the horror imagination in your mind is tested with the music and sounds In 'The Eyes Of Darkness'.

Alan Howarth, born 1948, is an American composer and sound designer who has worked on soundtracks for Hollywood films including the Star Trek and Halloween series, and is known for his collaborations with film director and composer John Carpenter.

Ennio Morricone

Ennio Morricone, (Italian: [ˈɛnnjo morriˈkoːne]; 10 November 1928 – 6 July 2020) was an Italian composer, orchestrator, conductor, and trumpeter who wrote music in a wide range of styles. With more than 400 scores for cinema and television, as well as more than 100 classical works, Morricone is widely considered as one of the most prolific and greatest film composers of all time.

The turning point in Morricone's career took place in 1964, Film director Sergio Leone hired Morricone, and together they created a distinctive score to accompany Leone's different version of the Western, A Fistful of Dollars (1964). Morricone's eclecticism found its way to films in the horror genre., In 1977 Morricone scored John Boorman's Exorcist II: The Heretic and Alberto De Martino's apocalyptic horror film Holocaust 2000, starring Kirk Douglas. In 1982 he composed the score for John Carpenter's science fiction horror movie The Thing
